Howl Projects is a new international art & illustration agency working with pop surreal artists and organizing exceptional art events in the UK and Europe. Since their Berlin launch in April they have been preparing their first big expo and as well as brand new works on paper and board visitors can expect to see live mural painting from Mr Mead throughout the week and live drawing from Pete Murgatroyd & Jimp.

Artist Information:
Mr Mead's speciality is creating dark tales to be acted out by his special interpretation of animal people. A parade of masked beings emerge from his strange fantasies, their hollow eye sockets beckoning as they appear from a black void.
Using traditional pen and ink techniques Mr Mead creates original artwork for exhibition and to commission, he has recently illustrated his first major book which will be released in autumn 2015. He is interested in applying his style and imagination to new forms and has previously created a deck of cards, product designs and murals as well as more traditional illustration work.
“I am working on pieces that are highly detailed illustrative works based on dark poems and limericks for an upcoming self titled book that is in a similar vein to the likes of 'The Melancholy tale of oyster boy' by Tim Burton and Edward Goreys 'Gashly crumb tines'. These authors and books have always been massive influences of mine. The book will be released at some point in the near future and will be both my self-publishing and narrative 'debut'.” Mr Mead
Jimp is the pen-name of Jim Hollingworth, an artist whose bleak humour, immutable style and dry social commentary have led his work to international collections, exhibitions and publications. Jimp's clients have included Vans, SLUT clothing, The House of Fairy Tales and Gavin Turk, whose recent biography Jimp illustrated.
Working primarily in layered ink on paper Chris Odgers ' stunning draftsmanship can be seen in his range of books which have been produced through his publishing platform Sawhorse books. Chris has written and illustrated four beautifully presented books 'Fall', 'Mule' and 'Souvenir' followed by 'The Bone Yard Ballet' from which there are a selection of images in the gallery above. As a freelance illustrator and fine artist Chris has tackled everything from album covers, editorial work and graphic novels to large scale wall installations and commissions from private collectors.
With strong influences in music, science fiction, philosophy and video art, Pete Murgatroyd's illustrations and comics are mind-bendingly memorable. Strong colours and designs dominate his work, creating a swirling miasma of lurid imagery. Pete's prizewinning illustrations have appeared in numerous publications and alongside collaborators in the collectives Puck, New Rule and Dark Matter.

All original artworks will be for sale alongside the Howl limited edition T-shirt range and affordable prints from each of the artists. Howl artists can also be commissioned for private and commercial illustration, mural painting and works of art.
Special events can be expected during the 48 Stunden Neukoelln Festival, June 26 – 28th, during which SomoS will have an Open House. The focus of the week will be the Friday night live drawing event from 7pm where invited artists will be creating spontaneous artwork and visitors will be able to meet the artists and get involved.
